Hello Manic Followers! Do you know what day it is? It’s WIPpet Wednesday! This is almost my favorite day of the week! Otherwise known as cracked math day with the Manic Writer. What’s your favorite day? I love sharing my WIP with you and this week I’m sharing another excerpt from my newest WIP, All of Me. It’s a polyamorous erotic romance, but I’ll share a clean part, I promise!
WIPpet Wednesday is a blog hop in which we post a portion of our work in progress that somehow relates to the date. Since math and I are not friends (really) I’ve simplified this year. This week I chose an excerpt from Chapter three for March being the third month, and it’s just over 308 words since today is 3/08. (I know weird math, but I did warn you that math and I weren’t friends.) I hope you love it!

Context: Cassidy is out on her first date with the sexy firefighter she met on Fire Safety Day at work. They both have secrets they should be confessing but Cassidy’s secret could be a deal-breaker for Dylan and she knows it. Jamie is her roommate.
“Does Jamie have anyone in her life?”
“She does, in a manner of speaking, but they aren’t monogamous.”
“I see.” He looked at her, he probably suspected she was leaving information out, and she was, but now wasn’t the time or place.
“Does it bother you that I have a son?” She looked up at him. It was time for full disclosure, she didn’t want to risk him accusing her of lying, but the guarded look in his eyes made the words catch in her throat. She stayed silent and waited for his answer.
“It surprised me, but I suppose it doesn’t matter. It’s not like we’re kids, right?” He waved her concern away. “It’s not like you have another boyfriend you haven’t mentioned, right? I can compete with a child.”
She looked away in alarm, hoping he hadn’t noticed. She would have to move slowly with him, help him understand her lifestyle before she sprang it on him. “It’s not a competition.”
“No, it isn’t, is it?” He smiled at her. “So Jamie is seeing someone, but they aren’t exclusive?” His forehead wrinkled, and he scratched his temple.
“Yes.” She wasn’t sure how to elaborate on that without frightening him so she let his unspoken question hang between them. “We’re both very happy with our lives right now.”
“Does that mean you don’t have time to date?” His eyes clouded over as he broke eye contact with her, and he brushed his hand over his short hair.
“If I didn’t have time to date, I wouldn’t be hiking with you.” She grinned at him. “What about you? Do you have a room mate?”
“I live alone, but it’s better that way. It’s hard to share your life with someone when you’re a firefighter.” The look on his face suggested he wasn’t telling her the whole story which was fair since she wasn’t either.
