“Social media is the ultimate equalizer. It gives a voice and a platform to anyone willing to engage.” Amy Jo Martin
My blog, The Manic Writer, is the foundation of my author platform as it should be.
It is the basis of how I use social media to engage. It isn’t however the strongest portion of it right now. Twitter is where I’m doing my best. My goal this spring is to change that. With that in mind I’ll be adding some content here to make it more useful, informative and helpful to you, my manic reader. I’ve created three new columns, a new Indie Author promotion plan and I’ll be doing giveaways as well. I’ll be working on other aspects of my author platform, and sharing how I do that, as well, but the Manic Writer is my first step.
I have three themes planned, they will be The Manic Moment, Real Life Romance Dilemma’s, and The Polygon Puzzle.
In The Manic Moment I will share what I am learning as I build my platform, begin the process of publishing my first book and marketing it, and anything else I come across on my journey. Do I have great wisdom to share? Of course not! That’s the best part. I’m learning, succeeding at some things and failing miserably at others. But I’m committed to sharing this rocky path I’m walking. We can learn from each other as we go.
Watch for my first post on this next week!
In Real Life Romance Dilemma’s I will address the real life version of the dilemma’s my characters face. For example, the underlying theme in DWF is Lylah’s personal growth as she heals from a divorce and begins to live again. It’s something many of us experience in one way or another, either from a death, a divorce, or just the loss of a friendship. I will explore how Lylah and my other characters cope with them and also some better ways to cope with them. Because, let’s face it, I’m an author. My chief hobby is chasing my characters up trees so I can throw sticks and rocks at them. Lylah, at least in the beginning, doesn’t have the best coping skills.
My third column, The Polygon Puzzle, will be a surprise. I won’t actually begin it until I’m close to the release of the book I’m working on now, All of Me. At that time I will reveal the content I have planned for it and what it will be about. I hope you’re intrigued and will stick around to see what I have planned for you. It’s sure to be fun.
Finally I’ll be adding a fourth column to my blog. The #IndieBLT promo. Each month I will spotlight an Indie author with an overview of the author and their work and I’ll sponsor a sweepstakes with free books, gift cards and possibly author swag! Then for the duration of that month I will promo their work, review one of their books and help you connect to them so you can enjoy them as much as I do. I hope you find many to love!
Thank you for stopping by the Manic Writer. The mania is always more fun with friends.
